I'm back again for another year of training, consultation and support for your youth suicide prevention efforts. Most services are free (within Clark and Cowlitz Counties, WA,) with the exception being the health class curriculum and the 3 hour
Networks for Life. Check this list out and give me a call to schedule a workshop.
Community and/or School Education
30 – 60 minute Workshops designed for community groups, agency or workplace staff, parents and students.
- Safe from Bullying – Saving lives
- Prevention works!
- Coping with Adolescent stress and
depression
School Based Education
- Prevention Works! A 30 minute overview of intervention steps for school staff, which also highlights a schools internal policy and procedure.
- Peer to Peer education program where our staff comes into a high school or middle school to train a team of students. Those students then launch a campaign in their school. Free
- Crisis
response plan Technical Assistance is provided to help develop a plan specific to incidents of student’s suicide or suicide attempts – on or off campus.
- Health class curriculum listed in the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) Best Practice registry $50.00:
- Look Listen Link – a middle school health class curriculum containing 4 lessons that can be used independently
or collectively to empower students to comfortable and confidently intervene with friends who may be depressed or suicidal.
- HELP – Help Every Living Person – A high school health class curriculum that also teaches students to identify stress and depression, ask directly about suicide and help their friends find the necessary supports.
- Riding the Waves – 6th grade health class lessons that increase emotional resiliency skills.
This class is not in the SPRC best practice registry as it does not specifically address suicide.
Training that meets Professional Licensure requirements
The YSPP course Networks for Life is an approved training for school counselors, nurses, social workers, and psychologists under House Bill 1336. This 3 hour course costs $600 when booked by a district for 10-30 employees. Classes
not sponsored by school districts also may be offered at $50 per person.
