As a person in recovery, this virus scares me because of how it is impacting my daily routine. Staying on task and continuing to engage in life and my community is a vital part of my recovery and yet.... I'm scared to death to leave the house. That means that the things that keep me well, are not available to me. I believe that other people are experiencing this same disruption in their schedule as well. As a
result, I decided to do something to keep me well and help others - daily connection calls. Each day at 8:00 am PST I will be hanging out in a a zoom room waiting to talk to you. The structure may vary, but the time will not. Making this commitment to you, will force me to start my day, on time and camera ready. (although you can come in your pajamas.)
This is going to be a time to support each other and generate ideas on how we can support the peers we work with. It can be a time to take advantage of the expertise in the room and talk about ways to improve your peer support program. It can be a time to set daily goals and then check in the next day to see how we did. What ever we do, I commit to keeping it positive and healthy for everyone.
See you in the zoom room!
